Dalhousie, Himachal Pradesh, India.


Dalhousie is a hill station in  Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated on 5 hills and was built during British Empire. It has been named after Lord Dalhousie, who was the British Governor General and used this place as his summer retreat. It is surrounded by the mountains of Dhauladhar range.
There is an animal sanctuary close by called Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary.Khajjiar which is at about half an hour drive is called mini Switzerland, because of its landscapes and a stream fed lake. Besides there is a beautiful lake for boating called Chamera Lake. March and April are best months to visit the place.
